Glenn is a fireman in Alabaster, and he has been hunting the CRWMA for two years. He scored on a couple of doe last year, but harvesting a buck with his bow had eluded him until this year. He took the 95lbs doe shown below on December 4th, and a few weeks later on December 30th he took the 8 point buck that broke his "buck dry spell". The buck weighed 120lbs, field dressed, and the drag out of his honey hole was ALL UPHILL. Congratulations Glenn, and thanks for sharing! (Click on the picture for a larger image)

Adam Weiger is shown below with a fine 9 point buck that ended his 3 year dry spell, on the Cahaba River Wildlife Management Area, on December 26th. The 3 1/2 year old buck weighed 137lbs. Adam was kind enough to send in some information about his day afield. "Three years ago I was finally introduced to the CRWMA after living in the Birmingham area for 12 years. For the last 3 years I have spent a lot of time scouting and hunting with nothing to show. I consider myself a fairly avid hunter normally harvesting 2-3 deer a year with my bow. But for some reason I had not even seen a single deer while in the stand. That is extremely frustrating. But I knew form the incredible sign and the pictures, that there was great opportunities. It was even re-assured to me when I put my dad in a spot that I had scouted but not hunted. He harvested a nice 8pt seen in the 07-08 trophy room. But this only increased my hunger for a CRWMA deer that I still had not seen. On December 26, 2008 7:45am, I was sitting in a stand my dad selected for me. Low and behold a nice 9 pt walked 10 yds from me and my Remington 30-06 did what it was meant to do. Big thanks to my dad, Tony, for helping haul it out and repaying his son. Some of my most favorite memories were made with my dad and my brother while on hunting trips." CONGRATULATIONS Adam, and thanks for sharing! (Click on the picture for a larger image) And in a perfect example of, "The harder I work, the luckier I get!"; Adam harvested this broken tine 4 point with a black powder rifle on January 3rd.
