Here you will find photographs of deer that visitors to this site have harvested at the Cahaba River Wildlife Management Area in years prior to the 2004-2005 season. 2003-2004 Season Tony Preston sent in this picture of a fine 8 point that he harvested while stalk hunting on the Cahaba River Wildlife Management Area near Boothton. The deer was taken on December 31, 2003 at 8:30AM. This rutting buck was chasing a doe when Tony made a 75 yard shot with his 30-06. The 3 1/2 year old buck weighed in at 170 lbs and had an inside spread of 16". (Click on the thumbnail for a larger image)

Mark Tatum was kind enough to send in this photo of a fine buck that he harvested on the Cahaba River Wildlife Management Area during a hunt in December of 2003. The deer was taken in the morning and has an unofficial Boone & Crocket score of 156. Mark intends to have it scored officially after the required drying/aging time period. Todd Riddle harvested this nice 6 point buck during the January 10th hunt at the Cahaba River WMA at about 8:15 am. The rut was in full swing and this fellow was trailing a doe (the buck...not Todd ! ! !). The deer weighed in at 145 Lbs. Mike Luther (see 12/08/2001 pics) was kind enough to send in these two pictures of a four point that he harvested on the Cahaba River Wildlife Management Area on Saturday December 12, 2003. The shot on this four point was taken at between 250 and 300 yards, and Mike states that while the deer weighed in at 100 Lbs, he coulda sworn it weighed 400Lbs after dragin' it back to his truck. 2002-2003 Season
Elton Wright tagged this massive 10 point buck on the Cahaba River Wildlife Management Area during a December 30, 2002 hunt. The deer was estimated to be only 3 1/2 years old. Photo courtesy of Sam Mitchell. (Click on the thumbnail for a larger image)
Allen Tatum harvested the outstanding 220 pound 9 point below, on the Cahaba River WMA, during the 2002-2003 season. The deer was taken with a muzzleloader! This deer was the largest deer by weight and was also determined to have the best rack with equal length left and right beams measuring 22 1/4" each; a 16 1/2" inside spread; and 5" circumference bases. Mark Tatum scored on this nice buck during a December 2002 hunt on the Cahaba River Wildlife Management Area. The seven point was at 50 yards.

Allen Tatum harvested the buck below, in December of 2000 with a 30-06. The deer was traveling with 5 other bucks when Allen made the 100 yard shot.
