2007 - 2008  Hunting Season Dates

 

Always consult your Official 2007-2008 Cahaba River Wildlife Management Area Permit or contact the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries for verification of Hunt Dates, Bag Limits, and complete rules and regulations governing hunting on Alabama WMAs.

 

No small game hunting is permitted on days of gun, youth, handicapped, and primitive weapons deer hunts.

Deer Hunting is Archery ONLY on the Cahaba River National Wildlife Refuge (CRR).  On the CRR, there is NO open season for Dove, Woodcock, Snipe and Waterfowl.

 November 10 (Youth Hunt - Less than 16 years old).  Hunters Choice except spotted fawns.  One deer per day.  No Small Game Hunting or Archery Hunting
  
 November 12-13 (Primitive Weapons Hunt: Hunter Choice - except spotted fawns; 2 deer per day, only one may be a buck.)
  
 November 17 (Gun Hunt: Buck Only) See Note 1
  
 November 23 - 24 (Gun Hunt: Buck Only) See Note 1
  
 November 30 - December 1   (Primitive Weapons Hunt: Hunter Choice - except spotted fawns; 2 deer per day, only one may be a buck.)

Note 1:  A predetermined percentage of the permits, issued on this hunt, will be either sex permits (two dear a day - except spotted fawns) only one may be an antlered buck.
