bulletCahaba River Water Levels (Centreville)
bulletThis gauge gives a better reading for lower sections of the Cahaba River including the Hargrove Shoals area inside the Cahaba Rive National Wildlife Refuge.  A minimum reading of 400 cfs is needed to enjoy a trip through the Lilies.  At this level, you will still scrape the bottom regularly.  Even at 850 cfs, you will still scrape the bottom in the shoals.  At about 1000 cfs, the scraping subsides.  Too much water, somewhere just over 2000 cfs, puts the Lilies under water.
bulletCahaba River Water Levels (Helena)
bulletYou can canoe the section of the Cahaba River, from the Hwy 52 bridge in Helena and through the Cahaba River Wildlife Management Area, at water flow levels above 250 cubic feet per second.  Anything much over 500 cubic feet per second will require substantial skill at maneuvering your water craft.
